What to say to Claude
I've uploaded the Claude Chat Development Workflow instructions. Please start the workflow and help me build a new application.

Step 4: Begin Development

Claude will automatically start the Requirements Gathering phase and begin interviewing you about your project.

🎉 That's it!

You're now ready to start building with AI assistance. Claude will guide you through each phase of development.

Your First Project

What to Expect

Claude will take you through 5 structured phases:

1. Requirements Gathering

Claude asks targeted questions about your project goals, users, features, and technical preferences.

2. Architecture & Planning

System design, database schemas, and API specifications are created with your approval.

3. Implementation

Code is written incrementally. You see progress and provide feedback throughout.

4. Testing

Comprehensive tests are created and executed. Issues are caught and fixed immediately.

5. Deployment

Production configurations and deployment procedures are prepared and documented.

Example Interaction Flow

Typical Conversation
Claude: "What type of application would you like to build?"

You: "A blog platform with user authentication and comments"

Claude: "Excellent! I'll help you build that. Let me gather some requirements..."

[Claude asks about:]
- Target users and use cases
- Core features and priorities
- Technology preferences
- Timeline and deployment needs

[Then Claude creates:]
- Project architecture
- Database design
- Implementation plan
- Working code with tests
- Deployment configuration
💡 Pro Tip

Start with a simple project for your first attempt. A basic web app or API is perfect for learning the workflow.

Common Questions

If Claude seems confused, you can reset by saying "Let's restart this phase" or "Show me the current state". The workflow includes error recovery procedures.

Yes! The workflow is flexible. You can skip phases, modify approaches, or add custom requirements. See our Advanced Techniques guide.

Simple projects (basic web app): 1-2 hours. Medium complexity (API with auth): 3-5 hours. Complex projects: 1-2 days. The workflow scales with project complexity.
